Corfu Town

Corfu Town is the capital of Corfu Island, and it’s honestly one of the most gorgeous cities in Greece. It’s got these cute cobbled streets, amazing museums, delicious restaurants, and a super interesting mix of Venetian, French, and British-style buildings.
The big seaside esplanade right by the sea is like a lively hangout spot, Europe’s second-largest square! It’s perfect for grabbing a coffee at a café and just watching people go by. The town’s got two impressive forts on either side, the Old Fortress and the New Fortress, and they both offer breathtaking views.
You should also check out Mon Repos down south from town. It used to be where the Greek royal family spent their summers and where the Duke of Edinburgh was born.
Most of the cool stuff is on the east side of the city – places like Spianada, the Liston, and the Museum of Asian Art, to name a few. Corfu Town is pretty popular, so there are loads of souvenir shops, restaurants, and cozy cafes that offer amazing views.
What’s great is that even though it’s a popular spot, it’s still got a local and student vibe. So, it doesn’t feel like some overly commercialized version of Greece. You can easily find authentic tavernas and cool little businesses tucked away in the backstreets. Enjoy exploring!
